Wondering if Supplements are Right for You?

Have you been wondering if you should supplement your diet?

I aim to transition my clients on to a mostly whole foods diet from the beginning. I truly believe that the nutrients in food benefit us in ways that we don’t understand yet - nutrition is an ever evolving field, and what we know today might be different tomorrow.

However, supplements can help in many cases. In some cases clients simply don’t have the time or energy to cook, in other cases there is a nutritional issue that needs a bit more support to get you feeling better as soon as possible.

Omega-3 is a great example for a lot of people. Not everyone is friends with seafood and nuts, so for some people taking omega-3 supplements works better.

Reasons why you might supplement:

- You have an aversion to certain foods - like fish!

- You have a nutrient deficiency such as low iron

- You don’t get good quality sleep

- You’re time poor

- You’re low on energy

- You get sick often

- You’re struggling with finding the motivation to prepare healthy meals

- You have signs of inflammation e.g. eczema or psoriasis, achy joints, sore muscles, brain fog, poor mental health, gut symptoms such as bloating, etc

- You have a condition that requires a certain daily intake e.g. pyrrole disorder

…and many more.

I hope this clears the air on whether taking a supplement is right for you! It’s not always necessary, but sometimes it makes all the difference.
